Good morning – I have a few
reminders as we have crazy times coming up.
Wednesday – field trip to
Bass Pro/Slavehaven
The students may wear blue jeans or uniform bottoms with
their class t-shirt. Please be in the lobby around 9 if you are
driving. We will come down about 9:10 and leave about 9:20. We will
give directions to each place we will be going, a strict schedule we will
follow, and a menu of the items parents may choose from on the lunch menu at
Spaghetti Warehouse. Please make sure you spend your time wisely at Bass
Pro. This will be an exciting part of the field trip, but our time is
limited. We will have a tour of the facility. I am not sure how
long this will last, but we will only have an hour to spend here. Again,
make sure you spend your time wisely.
Friday – Field Day
Field day begins at 9 on the football field. Students may wear athletic shorts (girls - long athletic shorts) There is a
different set up this year and your children will be competing in ALL
competitions. Some of the competitions have changed as well. Feel
free to check out your child after field day on Friday. If your child is
staying at school, please make sure they have a lunch and drink because we will
be eating in the room. If you haven’t sent in $2 for a snow cone for your
child, please do so tomorrow. This will be part of the rotation on Friday.
Monday, May 18/Tuesday, May 19 –
Class parties
Students in Mrs Burton's and Mrs. Cox's homerooms may wear swimsuits to school on
Monday. Boys can just put a tshirt on over their swim shorts. Girls
must wear only swimwear that covers the midsection. Tankinis are fine…
NO BIKINIS. Girls may wear shorts and tshirt to school to cover up their
swimsuit. Don’t forget towels and sunscreen.
Tuesday, May 19 –
Honor’s Day
You will receive a note in the Wednesday folder if your child
will be recognized in Honor’s Day Awards. The ceremony starts at 8:45 in
the church sanctuary. Your children have worked very hard this year, and
I am so proud of them. I know they will flourish as 6th
graders next year.
Wednesday, May 20 –
(Half Day) 6th grade promotion
6th grade promotion will be at 845. We will
attend this event. Also, as 5th graders we provide the cookies
for the reception. Please don’t forget to send your cookies sometime on
Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday for the reception. You may place them on
the table in the workroom if your child will not be at school on this
day. Be sure you put a note on them if you leave them. I will send
a reminder note home next week.
Thursday and Friday –
half days We will be working hard to clean the classroom on these days.
