After Christmas break we will have Move Up Morning where classes will "move up" to the next grade for the morning for a preview.  Parents may also attend and meet the teachers.  The schedule is as follows:

-          Thursday, January 15th is Move Up Morning for 3rd-6th grades beginning at 8:30

-          Thursday, January 22nd is Move Up Morning for PK-2nd grade beginning at 8:30

Dates and important information to remember-

Now - December 16 - Mrs. Cox and Mrs. Burton will be taking up items for the Mid South Love Home.  Be sure to check the column on the right for a link to the letter with items that are needed.

December 12 - 5th Grade chapel program and zoo field trip.  Your children will need to dress in all black.  Be sure to bring jeans or uniform pants and your field trip shirt or Christmas shirt to change into for the field trip to the zoo.  We will be ice skating and outside most of the time, so bring your gloves, hats, scarves, and coats.  Parents, if you would like to go on this field trip, please let your homeroom teacher know (if you haven't already).

December 18 -  Christmas party... you will be receiving more information about your class's party if you haven't already!  

Only 2 1/2 weeks!!!!  Are you ready?!?!?!  I know we are!

Friday, December 12 is the 5th grade chapel program.  We will be going on a field trip to the zoo for ice skating right after our program.

Christmas parties for 5th grade will be Thursday, December 18 in each homeroom.  You should be getting an email from your room mother about times and any other information.

Parents- 

We will begin our Achievement Tests next week.  This year 5^th and 6^th grade will test online.  The students have already begun to prepare for the online version by completing demonstrations of the tests in class.  This familiarizes them with the details (how to answer the questions, how to go back to check answers, etc.) of the testing process.  Please encourage your children to eat a healthy breakfast and get plenty of sleep next week!

·        Students do not need lunches as lunch will be provided

Pinecrest Field Trip

If your child has medicine that needs to be taken or emergency medicines that need to be with him or her throughout the day (please keep in mind this is an outdoor field trip), please send it on Friday in a ziplock baggie with instructions and give it to one of the teachers.  Students should not have medicines in their possession.

If you have any concerns, please let your teacher know.  We are looking forward to a great trip!

Tomorrow will be an elementary pep rally at 2:20.  All fall sports will be recognized.

Because of the pep rally, 5th grade scheduling will change as follows:

830-1045 - All core classes - (Math, Social Studies, and English)
1045-1125 - recess
1130-1200 - lunch
1200-1240 - F&F
1240-130 - Fine Arts
130-225 - extra class

Just a few reminders:

We have had several students out recently.  Please remember it is your responsibility to check all blogs when you are out for any makeup work/homework that your child has missed.  Students receive "a day for a day" to makeup any assignments missed.

Don't forget to send in $15 for our Pinecrest field trip by Wednesday, October 1 if you haven't done so already.

We will be going on our Pinecrest field trip on Friday, October 17.  Don't forget $15 is due to cover the costs of lunches and buses.

Don't forget this week is Homecoming week!!!!  We will be dismissing at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.  Don't forget to send money for pizza to the proper person for our homecoming lunch Friday!  You may want to make sure you are here a little early Friday or plan to stay until around 9.  The seniors will be doing their parade around 8:30.  We will be going to watch the parade right at 8:15 and will be going to the pep rally at 1:00.

The first fundraiser for Northpoint Christian School is less than one week away

Register now for the 1:00 PM flight at the Sporting Clays Shoot on Saturday, September 13, at the Willows Sporting Clays & Hunting Center in Robinsonville, Mississippi. A delicious lunch, snacks, and beverages will be provided. Lunch begins at 11:30 AM, processing to shoot at the Willows opens at 12:15 PM with the shoot beginning at 1:00 PM. Parents must sign a waiver for students to shoot. Complete the Sporting Clays Shoot Registration Form and deliver it to the Development Office.

In addition, this weekend (September 5-7) is a Tax Free Weekend for guns and ammo in Mississippi.

Jeans and Spirit wear day is tomorrow!  Students may wear jeans and an NCS top or uniform shirt.  Football players have asked about jerseys.  This is something you will have to talk to Mr. Lynn Fox about.  I am not sure if they will be able to.

Be sure to check the F&F blog post for today.  You will find information about F&F tests given for this unit.  The tests will be on Tuesday and Wednesday, September 10-11.

Pinecrest field trip is scheduled for Friday, October 17.  Be looking for more information to be sent home about this field trip.  This is a teacher/student field trip, and we will not be using parents for transportation/supervision.

Parent Teacher conferences are Friday, September 12.  This is a full day dismissal for all students.  You will be receiving a note regarding the procedures for 5th grade in your Wednesday folder.

Please remember to send all papers back in the Wednesday folder AND sign the paper in the back on all three columns showing you have looked at all three class's work.

Don't forget - we are OUT OF SCHOOL on Monday for Labor Day!

Please be sure to check the "Upcoming Events" tab on the right for any events you may want to be aware of.  Wednesday is school picture day.  We will be taking individual pictures first thing that morning.

Labor Day break is Monday, September 1.

Parent Night is this Thursday night at 6:30 in the Sanctuary.  We will be moving to the PAC for our 5th grade meeting.  We hope to see you there!
